...and the scrapping goes on!

Another LO using "Origins" to share with you today. Yes, my line of goodies is diminishing at an alarmingly fast rate. :( I LOVE this photo of Gus. It was taken last spring in our backyard and I just can't help but to smile every time I look at it. He just looks so happy! He has such a proud look as he walks along. It must be the Poodle in him. I used sketch #40 from The Scrappiest for this one. Once again, I went to Kelly Goree's blog for some inspiration on how to mix these patterned paper.

My scrapping mojo is still alive and kicking. I will have one more "Origins" LO to share in my next post. Then, I think it is time to pack the scraps away and move on! LOL

Happy Scrapping! Jen :)

Crazy for "Origins"

I have two more LO's to share today using the amazing "Origins" by Basic Grey! This line is so amazing to use. The LO's just go together very easily!

This LO was based on Sketch #52 at 52 Sketches 52 Weeks. Sadly, this is the last sketch before Julie closes down the site. I love Julie's sketches and still plan on doing the sketches that she posts on her personal blog. I had to document little Maggie May recovering from her surgery to remove bladder stones. We were given a vile containing 5 stones! What a wonderful "home made" Christmas gift!! LOL Maggie is totally back to normal and is feeling much better than she has been feeling recently. Now we just have to hope that they don't come back. Some of the stones have been sent away for testing. This will determine if a dietary change is in order.

This next LO was based on a sketch by Julie Bonner, which I found on her personal blog. I thought the colours of "Origins" went so well with the colour of Mo's eyes. This is Diane's cat when he was a kitten. Oh, Jeff is in the picture too!! LOL Jeff is Diane's boyfriend. I LOVE this picture of the two of them. I did some serious scraplifting on this LO! ;) The two flowers at each corner of the photo were lifted from a LO by Kelly Goree which I found on the BG web site. It amazes me what she does with BG supplies. She can layer element stickers in amazing ways. I always search to get ideas of how she has used the line before I cut into mine! :)

I will have more creations with "Origins" in my next post. I just can't seem to put these awesome supplies away!

Project 365 & "Origins"

Well, the new year is almost upon us and with this begins Project 365. My goal is to take one photograph each day! Susan is also doing this project so we have set up some guide lines. We are both very inspired by the style of Frauke, who often posts on 52 Sketches 52 Weeks. We have decided to design our LO's after her style. Each week will have a double LO. Each LO will be done on white card stock. My LO's will all be done using, paper, ink and stitching. There will be no lumpy embellishments! LOL This will be quite the challenge for me. So, each LO will lay perfectly flat. It will be so interesting to be able to look back on this pictorial diary of 2010 in years to come. My goal to to try to document the everyday moments of life.

Yesterday I picked up the rest of the BG "Origins" products that I was wanting, so today I scrapped the day away! I know that I will scrap and scrap until I use it all up, getting as many LO's as possible out of the stash! This line is totally amazing and I am loving every minute of working with it.

I was really happy to have this photo of Diane! First of all, she is not pulling a goofy face! This is rare. She must get this behaviour from her father! Secondly, I was thrilled to have the black elements in this photo. It was just perfect for some of the papers that had black in their designs. I used Trisha's awesome sketch #104 from Sketch Inspirations. I love her sketches and am totally enjoying this warm community.

I will have more LO's to share using "Origins" in my next post!

A Gift from the Heart

Well another Christmas has come and gone. Our families seemed happy with the festivities, the girls and their boyfriends seemed to be having a good time and the pups always had someone by their side to pet them! Rob and I are happy to have the house back in order and to sit back and relax! LOL When you are hosting, you really don't spend any time together enjoying the day.

I wanted to share with you a gift that I received from my sister, Susan. Susan found a pattern on the internet and made me this awesome cover for my Cricut!! How lucky am I?!? I always think that hand made gifts are the best. They come from the heart! Susan has always been so talented with sewing and quilting. I have treasured the many hand crafted gifts that she has made my family throughout the years. Check out the applique work! The Cricut is looking pretty snazzy!

Today I decided to check into the LSS to see if the new BG "Origins" had come in and yes it had!!! Very exciting, as I have been looking forward to this line for over a month. Unfortunately, they only got in a few items in the line so tomorrow I will check out some stores in the city to see if I can find some of the other items that I am wanting to use. Pearl described this line as having an "organic" feel to it and I thought that she described it perfectly. I have two photos already, that I am hoping to scrap with this line.

This week I plan on getting back into "the studio" (hee hee) and doing some serious scrapping! I am doing Project 365 for 2010 and am very excited to get started on it. I will explain the details of this in my next post!

Happy Scrapping! :) Jen

Lots of Scrapping

Today was a day dedicated to scrapping before my crafting time gets consumed with the holidays.I had so much fun creating two LO's!

Here is my take on Sketch #51 at 52 Sketches 52 Weeks. I kept it somewhat simple with minimal embellishing. I really should try this more often! I loved these October Afternoon Christmas papers. I felt that the patterns and layering was enough to make the LO interesting. I made the flower with my Cricut and was so happy to use some musical note paper that I have been hoarding for about a year! I got inspiration for the black flourishes from Amy Oxford's take on #51. I'm really going to try to get more use out of these stitching templates. Now there is only one sketch left before this awesome site closes. :(

This LO was done with Sketch #103 from Sketch Inspiration. It was a challenging sketch with having four photo spots with two horizontal and two vertical in placement. I chose to use 3 photos and use the playing card to replace the one photo spot. I also used a barcode from a price tag and the red chipboard piece was the tag off a t-shirt. I was feeling "green" to find a use for these items. I think the touches of black really anchor the page.

I'm looking forward to getting some good photos this holiday. I have some awesome Christmas paper that I'm excited to scrap with.

Happy Scrapping! Jen :)

Wrap it Up!

A recent article that I read in a scrapping magazine commented on how so often we have pictures of the unwrapping of gifts, but seldom of the wrapping process. This inspired me to record the wrapping of gifts. I used Graphic 45 papers and got a chance to use some awesome vintage stamps and cute little date tag that my sister, Susan, sent me! I love the vintage feel to this LO. I used Sketch #50 from 52 Sketches 52 Weeks. I love Julie Bonner's sketches and am so sad that we only have 2 left before the site closes. :(

Brrr

Well, it has been pretty chilly around here. When it gets into the -30c zone, it is a good idea to hibernate. This leaves extra time for scrapping. We did venture out yesterday and Rob took this picture of one of our frosty ornaments. Can't wait to scrap it !

I'm finally working on some of my halloween LO's. Here's Gus & Maggie in the backyard. I used BG Eerie for most of it. I used one of Trisha's awesome sketches. I really enjoy her blog.

I love this picture of Lisa & Andrew. They were heading out to a halloween party dressed as, Princess Peach & Mario. I thought they looked so cute! This is BG Eerie again. Love this paper line! I used sketch #102 at Trisha's awesome new sketch challenge site called Sketch Inspiration.
Happy Scrapping! Jen :)

Welcome

Well, I've finally decided to jump in and start a blog. I really have no idea what I'm doing and the help I'll be asking DH will drive him crazy for sure! So, please bear with me. I'll be sharing my scrappy world as well as my total addiction to scrapping supplies.
Today I have some pictures of the pups that I took today. I'm hoping to do some LO's with some of my Christmas paper stash some time very soon.
