Pink Paislee Love

Oh, all of these sneak peeks for CHA are killing me!!  Why am I so addicted to looking at all of this stuff?  It is a sickness,  I tell ya!  Each time I look at a new release I hope that I will just hate it.  Ha!  Pink Paislee has me pretty excited this time around.

Take a peek!

Love this palette!

Love these tags!  These could be good to use with supplies that I already have.

This collection just makes me happy!  So soft!!

Love these buttons!  The spool ones are AMAZING!!!

Other goodies I have spied are....

these amazing papers from Lily Bee.  I am such a sucker for blue, grey and yellow

and these fun buttons by Jillibean Soup.  I think epoxy is making a bit of a come back!

Why do they have to make it all so yummy?  ;)

CHA is almost here which means that all of these peeks will soon end.  Phew, good thing because this was getting exhausting.   Now I have until March to forget about all of these goodies and then just stay away from any shopping venues.  hee hee  In the end, there really isn't anything ground breaking new out there with the exception of some different embellishment items.  There really is only so much you can do with paper.  I recently stumbled upon Shimelle saying that it is important to use the supplies that you have while you still love them.  This is very good advice.  Yesterday while peeking through some seldom visited paper folders, I saw so many papers that I still love and am basically saving.... for what?  It's time to finally use up some of this awesomeness.

Tales of a Yarn Hoarder

It seems that my tendency to hoard crafting supplies has taken a new direction.  I do admit to being a paper hoarder and I do admit to buying more sale yarn than I can possibly use.  I can rationalize these behaviours.  Paper is cheap and as for the yarn, when I find that I have too much, I pass it on to knitters in my family to knit up woolies for charity.  Four knitters can get more done than one!  It is a win win.  I get the immediate gratification of buying wool on sale and more people get to stay warm during our chilly Canadian winters.  It all made sense until....  I discovered the $2 yarn bin at Michael's.

The $2 yarn bin is every yarn hoarder/ bargain hunters dream.  It is a huge bin where they place balls of wool that have lost their labels and are looking a little bit mangled.  Oh, I do love this bin.  Not sure if I feel that I am rescuing a reject but as I approach,   I get excited at the thought of picking through and looking for yarn treasure!  It really is a hit and a miss.  Some days it will have all of two balls of really cheap wool in lovely colours such as dusty rose and maroon.  Yuck!  Then other days, I hit the jackpot!  Yesterday was one of these days.  Yay!

This is what I got for a grand total of $10.  Score!

I can't believe they only charged me $2 for that huge coral coloured ball.  My first idea was to use these yarns for my charity knits.  Then once I really looked at them all together I realized that they were such a beautiful fall palette together.  These yarns are being saved for when I learn how to knit granny squares.  What an awesome blanket this will be!  When I got home, I rummaged through the yarn stash and pulled other balls that work well into this palette.  Now I have a big bag of yarn just waiting to be crocheted...... once I figure out how to crochet that is.  ;)  Hmm  Now I need to find a home for this addition.

As if this bargain didn't just make my day, I decided to peek into my LSS.  Upon entering,  I asked if they had got in the new BG line, "Kissing Booth".  No they hadn't but.... all BG stock was 50% off.  What?  Score again!!  I picked up two collection packs ( Little Black Dress & Indie Bloom) for $13.50 each!  I am one happy camper.  "Indie Bloom" is really bright and busy but I am excited for the challenge to work with it.  I bought "Little Black Dress" to use the "B" sides for background papers.  I love pre-CHA sales!!

So that is my story.  Now not only do I need to try to avoid the LSS but also the magnetic pull of going to Michael's to look in that $2 bin.  ;)  It is a slippery slope for me.  Where will I store all of these yarns if I can't stay away?  Will I end up being on an episode of Hoarders?  So many crafts.  So little time.  {sigh}

Hope your crafty day is going well!

Some Vintage Vogue

I have a LO to share today using some Pink Paislee "Vintage Vogue".  There were so many fun embellishments released with this collection.  It sure makes scrapping a snap!  Here is Diane with one of her favourite furry friends, Bolt.

I used Sketch #192 from Creative Scrappers.  Such a fun sketch with lots of embellishment opportunity.

Last night, I spied this new release coming from Pink Paislee.   Love the vibrant colours in this collection.

How about these buttons new out by Bella Blvd.?  Turquoise and woodgrain make me smile!

CSI Colour Challenge #3

I have finally played along with this awesome new site, CSI.  I have to say that it is so much fun and quite the challenge.  Not only is there a colour scheme to follow but also a journaling and elements requirement.

Here's the challenge!

As soon as I saw this soft palette I knew immediately that I had the perfect photo just waiting to be scrapped.  My LO features my Royal Doulton ornament, "Dinky Do"!  I had so much  fun going through the stash.  I am using a super old piece of BG paper here!

I used this sketch from Creative Scrappers!  The circular elements were perfect for this challenge.

Hope you get a chance to check out this fun site.  Colour challenges make it so much fun to go through the stash and realize all the goodness at our fingertips!

Sketch Inspiration #304

My giveaway is still open.  You can check it out here.

Sketch Inspiration has a new sketch up today and I am sponsoring this week's prize!  Some MME Christmas goodies.  Perfect for scrapping some Christmas memories.

Here is the sketch.  I love the simple linear look of this one.

Here is Lisa's boyfriend, Steve and his very lovely pup, Sophie.  She is a sweet girl and so well behaved. Kind of like my pups..... not.  ;)  I dug into my Studio Calico stash for this one.

Hope you have a chance to play along.

A Vintage Giveaway!

I'm having a giveaway!  Mostly Pink Paislee "Vintage Vogue" along with a few embellishments from my stash that I thought would compliment the line.

As you can see, some of these packages are partial.  The large button package and paper package are complete.  You may be able to spy some tiny pink brads in the glass dish.  Well, these will not show up in your mailbox, should you win.  They kept poking through the packaging so I removed them.  :(

So,  if you are interested in these goodies, just leave me a comment telling me your most favourite item on your CHA wish list.  So far, mine is the Crate "Story Teller" line.   I'll draw a name after supper on Monday and then post the winner.  Good luck!

Also Known As

I have another LO to share today.  Scrapping two days in a row! It is still pretty cold here so it is a great day to hide away and create.   I was playing with BG "Oxford" again today.  I am such a blue fan and as always,  I love how BG always has a beautifully distressed look to their collections.

I used this sketch from Elle's Studio.  I loved the originality of it.

Seems to me a fitting title, as if I keep slacking on the scrappy front, this is how many followers I will likely drop to.  ;)  It has been over a month since I scrapped last but, I made it down to the studio today and did a LO.  ( The fireplace even decided to light for me.  Yay!!)

Last month, I entered this LO in a stitching challenge on the BG blog.  I was one of three spotlighted on their blog.  That in itself was reward enough for me but, I also received the collection pack of "Oxford" in the mail yesterday.  It didn't take me long to cut into it.

I have been wanting to do this LO for some time.  The "followers" on Blogger got me thinking how I have three very loyal followers.  The really do follow me around the house all day.  Dogs are weird like that.  They look at me as if to say, "What's next?".

I used this sketch by Julie Bonner.  I wanted to somewhat replicate the "followers" section of blogs.

I have one more LO planned with "Oxford".  It just may be featuring the lovely Lady.  I haven't scrapped my sweetie for a while now.

Happy Scrapping!!  Jen  :)

Something Entirely Different

Brrrrr from Alberta Canada!  It is cold here.  :(  We have been spoiled with a beautiful mild winter up until this past week and now we are all in shock.  I had planned to scrap yesterday but just couldn't bring myself to venture down to the chilly basement and wait for the fireplace to heat up.  Such a wimp.  ;)  Today I can't even get the fireplace to ignite.  I can see that the pilot light is on so maybe it has something to do with the cold weather?  Today may be another knitting day with three warm puppies cuddled around me.  Okay, two warm puppies cuddled around me (Gus and Maggie)  and one puppy (Lady)  sitting on the back of the sofa near my shoulder,  pawing at my head in an attempt to get me to put down my knitting and give her some more love.  This is pretty much my life.

So I have still been faithfully tracking all of the new CHA releases looking for something entirely different.  I had a good chuckle when Helen left me a comment referring to this as, "new product lust".  Hee hee  So true!

I have to say that I got pretty excited when I saw this line by Cosmo Cricket, "Twenty- Three".  I love the pinks and grey in the line.

LOVE this book patterned paper too!  Logic does tell me that I really can't see a use for this line but we will see how long that rational lasts.  ;)

Last night I came upon this by Studio Calico.  This is a  must have for me.  I LOVE everything about it!

These butterflies are awesome!

Love these badges too!

Love the original font of these alphas!

Jenni Bowlin has some fun stuff out too!  I can see lots of uses for these stickers!

Lastly, Crate kicks it out of the ballpark once again with, "Story Teller".  Such a versatile line and I love the vibrant palette.  This is a must on my list.

So what's on your "new product lust" list?

What's New?

Today was a super productive and fun day.  We spent the afternoon with Lisa working on setting up her apartment  and it  is looking good.  It looks like a home now and she is one happy girl.  Lisa has always been my vibrant girl.  No hint of colour or pastels for this girl.  She likes it bright.  Lucky for her,  her landlord/father is very agreeable and let her have some vibrant lime green walls in her place.  This lead to a palette of lime green, hot pink and grey.

The landlord also allowed her to put as many holes in the walls as was needed to achieve the decorative look that she was going for.  He even drilled them for her as he hung a series of suspended shelving units!  Not sure if he will be nearly as agreeable as he fills them one day when we sell the place. ;)

Winter CHA will soon be here and with it lots of new product will be available for all of us hopelessly addicted scrappers. {sigh}  It is bitter sweet, the thrill of what the newest trends and colour palettes will hold and yet that nagging guilt of wanting to buy more stuff that I really don't need.  I don't make statements of abstaining from any scrappy purchases for extended periods of time.  History tells me that I am never successful and everyone in my family laughs at me.  ;)

I like to be in the know of exactly what is coming from the manufacturers that I love.  No walking into the LSS with a feeling of being overwhelmed.  I have studied it all and will recognize the lines I have dreamed of getting into my scrappy happy hands.  I faithfully check out Paper Crafter's Corner daily.  If only I could stay away from this site.  Maybe not knowing what is coming would help me not to buy it but, I doubt it.

When I view the computer images of what's to come,  I try to convince myself that I basically have such similar product in my stash that this time I will be able to just walk away from it.  This stream of thought works until I actually see the product in the store.  Then I get that rush of excitement and suddenly the goodies seem so different and I just want to buy them so badly.  Clearly an addiction.  ;)

This CHA I have a new plan for trying to buy less and use up more of the wonderful stuff I already have.  I will look for things that are totally different.  Only then will it qualify for purchase.  I can foresee a problem with this plan already.  My definition of "different" is a grey area.  I think I am in trouble again.  ;)  Here is what I have been spying so far.

Jenni Bowlin's "Magpie"  has such a soft palette.  A step away from her traditional red and black.  Chevrons are here to stay.

Teresa Collins "Spring Fling"  has one of my favourite colour combinations.  Yummy!

Jillibean Soup's "Neopolitan Bean Bisque" has caught my eye.  I have tried to tell myself that it is so similar to the last four releases but oh I like everything about this.

And now for MME.  Wow!!  Follow Your Heart-Be Amazing is amazing.  It does have a similar vibe to October Afternoon's Farmhouse line.  But some of these papers are a must have.  Love the hexagon paper!

On the Bright Side-2 has another one of my favourite colour palettes to work with.  I love all of the faux wood patterns this season.

Then there is Miss Caroline.  Leave it to MME to release so much goodness.

So, I'll just keep telling myself that there really isn't much new out there this time around.... it's not different enough.  Wish me luck!  hee hee  How is your willpower feeling for this upcoming CHA?

Happy Scrapping!!  Jen  :)
