More "Fur Fusion"

I just can't get enough of this Jillibean Soup collection!  It has me wanting to scrap all of my current fur baby photographs.

I love that this collection is for dogs and cats.  Next up might be some of my favourite kitties.

Here is the sketch that I used by Laura Whitaker.

In other news, we've been house painting...again.  That yellow that we used last August... well we tired of it really fast.  I was over it at about two months in and Rob at three months in.  Neither of us voiced this to the other.  LOL  It is weird how a colour that we debated using for about two years, ended up being one that we couldn't stand.  So we are moving with the crowd and have given into a warm grey!  It is so serene.

We cheated this time and hired the job out.  Professionals are so quick.

So then something happened that I thought would never come to be.  After eleven years of being totally in love with gold, I got tired of it.  At first I moved it all to the basement family room.  But even down there, it suddenly seemed so loud.  So I stripped the house of gold.  Here's what went for donation.  Goodbye "mustard".

I can't say that I am totally over gold.  I still value all of my gold glassware and dishes that I carefully thrifted over time... and they look amazing with grey.   Could it be that I moved out of the 70's?  No more gold and brown.  Hello twenty first century! ;)

Creative Scrappers #295

Well it was a happy day when Kristine decided to get Creative Scrappers up and running again.  I often think of how grateful I am that creative people share their talents for the betterment of many.

Here's my take on the June sketch.  I used Jillibean Soup for this one.  Just love the animal themed line.

Here's the sketch.

Wishing you all a creative day.

Bloom

The backyard is in full bloom.  I think it is my favourite time of the season when everything is at its prime.  Take a peek.

I have captured my first image for the Summer Photo Challenge.  #1 is a "wild heart"- a naturally occurring heart.  It was one of the last blooms on my "bleeding heart" plant.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Back With BoBunny

Here are the pages that I created for Treasured Memories using "Butterfly Kisses".

First up a monochromatic page using a soft pink palette.  This is a photo of me and Rob taken by Eric when we went to a Sunday brunch the weekend before Diane and Eric got married.

This is the sketch I used by Creative Scrappers.  I'm so happy that they are up and running again.

Hard to believe that these papers are from the same line.  A crisp LO this time.  Love this photo of Thomas.

Once again I used a Creative Scrappers sketch.

I am getting to make the pages for the July kit at Treasured Memories, so I will have lots of LO's to share next month.  The kit is amazing and I had so much fun playing with it.  I created 9 pages out of a $35 kit!  These kits are so amazing!!

On a personal note, we have another wedding coming up!  Lisa and Steve are getting married on August 13! They are having a small wedding with just the immediate family.   I am so happy for them and feel that I have really hit the jackpot in the son-in law department.  It is really funny to think that both the girls are married in the same year.

Have a great day!

Kaisercraft ~ Mermaid Tails

I've been scrapping like a crazy woman lately!  Today I have two pages that I created for Treasured Memories using "Mermaid Tails".

First up is a photo of Thomas playing in a little water fountain pond.

Here's the sketch I used from Creative Scrappers.

This next page was a bit of a challenge for me and put me out of my comfort zone a little bit.  I used some distressing and stitching to try to capture the vibe.  I was really wishing that I had an old photo of my girlies playing "Little Mermaid".  Ariel was a huge part of our world once upon a time.  This would have been the perfect collection.   Oh well, we didn't have digital back then so photos were not quite as plenty as they are today.

I'll be back soon with some pages I created using "Butterfly Kisses" from BoBunny.

Have a great day everyone!

Dream Homes... Really?

We were late this year but we finally made it over to see the homes up for grabs through the dream home lottery.  It is a great fundraiser that raises money for hospitals in the Edmonton area.  It is always fun to go through and see these enormous houses and the decorative touches that apparently the elite are looking for.  I figure that anyone who lived in one of these places had better get a maid or two because I could spend every day just cleaning as a full time job!

The home going to the first winner was my least favourite.  It has this huge hot tub literally in the middle of the house!

You looked down on it from the kitchen and even from the tiny living room.  The when you went upstairs to the main bedroom, you still looked down upon it.  I think this would be a dream home for teenagers and a nightmare for parents of teenagers.

Then there was this full room just for lounge chairs.  Who needs the beach?  LOL

There were plants throughout this home in really tucked away weird places.  If they were real, they would be awful to water and if they were fake, they would be awful to dust!  They even had them tucked behind these wooden stairs.  You would need to find a small child to crawl in there to take care of them.  It was really weird.

Here's a bedroom for a Halloween fan!

The nicest home will go to the second place winner.  It was a more traditional home with a bit of a country vibe to it.  Check out this awesome greenhouse that comes off the kitchen.  It was sunny and warm and would be the perfect place to curl up with a good book.... although that would cut into floor washing time.  LOL

I loved these beams on the ceilings and the brick work around the fireplace.

The third place winner gets the weirdest house of the three.  It is like they were trying to bring the outdoors in but in a really tacky way.  Forest wallpaper anyone?

The green carpet was supposed to look like grass and it felt almost like walking on crushed velvet.

Check out this shower curtain.

Many of the windows had these etchings.

Then there was this zen room with a pile of rock shaped pillows.

We didn't buy a ticket to win the home this year, but bought a ticket for the 50/50 draw instead.  As fun as it was to look at these huge homes, it was even better to go home to our 1400 square foot home... the perfect size for two.

Well summer must be close because the summer photograph challenge is up!  Rob and I are playing along this year and I think I might put together a small 4"x4" album as I did last year.  Here's the list of prompts.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Please Help Lloyd

Anyone who has been following my blog for any time knows that I am a huge fan of this cute little kitty named Lloyd.  I even did a LO about him.

Well this little guy needs your help.  He is having issues with his teeth and is in so much pain that he stopped eating.  He needs to have molars removed.  You can read the whole story here.

If you are able,  please send a few dollars his way.  His humans love him dearly and this kind of expense is not one that they are able to cover.  You can find the Go Fund Me page here.

The cost of dental health for animals always blows me away.  Diane and Eric spent close to $2000 on dental surgery for Mo a few years ago.  Last summer I spent $1400 for Maggie and Lady to have cleaning and some teeth pulled.  My vet has actually lowered her fees for dental as many people just can't afford the cost and it doesn't get done.   Together we can help this little guy.  The internet has helped rescue him once before.  :)
